May 23rd, 2006 : FICIB Statement

The fifty support committees who are located in every region in France and abroad join with Yolanda Pulecio, Ingrid's mother in condemning the statements made by the Parisian committee, which implicate the french Minister for Foreign Affairs.

They are worried that internal French political considerations will affect our efforts to bring about freedom for Ingrid and the other hostages.

They deeply regret the Parisian committee has dissociated itself from the activities carried out in common with other committees, thereby depriving the movement for Ingrid, Clara and the other hostages of the synergy and the efficiency of our actions throughout the first years of our campaigns.

They state with regret that this committee, set up in 2003, that organised several important events in the French capital, now consistently represents itself, when dealing with the media, as "THE" committee of support for Ingrid.

Dividing our efforts can only have a negative impact on the international movement of support for Ingrid and the other hostages in Colombia.
